TUNKIA’s Testing Solution for Nanovoltmeter Calibration

Publish Time: 2024-01-24     Origin: Site

1. Summary of Nanovoltmeter Calibration Solutions

TUNKIA's nanovoltmeter calibration solutions include TH1200 Nanovoltmeter Calibration Device, TH1950 Precision Multifunction Calibrator, TH0320 Reference Resistance Standard, TH1000 Ultra-Stable Current Standard, etc. (Some calibration methods require a high precision8.5 digit meter).

Standard Source Method

(Recommended)

TH1200 Nanovoltmeter Calibration Device

 • Measurement uncertainty up to 6ppm@10V

 • mV output stability is typically up to 1.8nV/min

 • Dual channel voltage outputs are connected using low thermal EMF terminals

 • Supports automatic zero calibration function to eliminate errors caused by internal thermal electromotive force

 • Support automatic calibration through host computer software

Standard Voltage Divider Method

TH1950

Precision Multifunction Calibrator

TH0320 Reference Resistance Standard

 • The short-term stability of the TH1950 output voltage reaches 1.5 ppm/min, which is better than 1/10 of the absolute value of the relative maximum allowable error of the nanovoltmeter.

 • The maximum operating voltage and nominal resistance of TH0320 cover the calibration range of the nanovoltmeter, and the annual stability reaches 5 ppm, meeting the calibration requirements.

 • Before calibration, the DC voltage divider composed of standard resistors needs to be calibrated using the electric bridge method.

 • During the test, it is necessary to switch between different standard resistances according to the test range.

Voltage Conversion Method

TH1000

Ultra-Stable Current Standard

TH0320 Reference Resistance Standard

  • The short-term stability of the TH1000 output current reaches 10 ppm/min, which is better than 1/10 of the absolute value of the relative maximum allowable error of the nanovoltmeter.

2.1 Overall Introduction

Fig 1- Appearance of TH1200 Nanovoltmeter Calibration Device

TH1200 Nanovoltmeter Calibration device is an instrument that uses the standard source method to calibrate nanovoltmeters. It has a built-in high-stability voltage reference standard, which has the characteristics of low noise, high accuracy, high resolution, and low temperature drift. It has dual output channels, supports positive and negative polarity output, and is very suitable for completing the calibration of nanovoltmeters through the standard source method.

Standard Source Method

Model

TH1200 Nanovoltmeter Calibration Device

Voltage Output Range

± (0~120V)

Display Digits

8-digit decimal

Measurement Uncertainty (1 year)

6 ~ 19 ppm

Short-term Stability (pk-pk)

0.7 ~ 2.8 ppm/min

Source Internal Resistance (Ω)

Load Current(mA)

≤ 2 Ω @ (1 mV ~ 100 mV)

≤ 50 mA @ (1V~100 V)

Stability Time

< 3 s to full uncertainty, range or polarity change +1 s

Note: ① If the zero calibration operation is not performed on the 1 mV, 10mV, and 100 mV range blocks, the zero output error needs to be increased by 100 nV. ② The 100 V range only supports CH1 output.

2.2 Characteristics

High Stability

 • The 1 mV output stability is better than 1.8 nV/min, and the typical value is better than 1 nV, meeting the needs of nanovoltmeter calibration.

Automatic Calibration of Nanovoltmeter

The equipment reserves a variety of communication interfaces (RS232, LAN, USB), and the host computer software is adapted to the common nanovoltmeters under test (34420A / 2182A) on the market, and supports automatic calibration of the nanovoltmeters under test according to calibration specifications.

Covenient Operation of Nanovoltmeter Calibration

 • Supports ± (0 ~ 120 V) voltage output, fully covering nanovolt voltmeter calibration needs;

 • Dual-channel voltage output terminals avoid the need to manually switch output terminals for calibration;

 • It supports adapting to the original low thermal electromotive force test wire of the nanovolt meter, and the calibration operation can be completed with a single connection. The calibration process completely simulates the actual working scenario.
