TA1700 Wideband Current Transformer Calibration Device

It consists of a programmable high current source, I/V conversion standard, adjustable load, vector voltage analyzer, etc. It uses the digital comparison method to calibrate AC current transformers (users can also choose precision transformers as I/I conversion standards and use analog comparison method for calibration)

1. Overview

TA1700 is a device for calibrating AC current transformers. It consists of a programmable high current source, I/V conversion standard, adjustable load, vector voltage analyzer, etc. It uses the digital comparison method to calibrate AC current transformers (users can also choose precision transformers as I/I conversion standards and use analog comparison method for calibration).

2. Features

  •  I1 nominal input: 20 mA ~ 6 kA (customizable upon request)

  •  Test frequency: 45 Hz ~ 65 Hz (400 Hz, 1 kHz optional)

  •  I/V conversion standard can be selected as class 0.01, class 0.005

  •  Vector voltage analyzer supports proportional measurement of dual-channel voltage

  •  The typical value of proportional uncertainty is 50 ppm

  •  Equipped with dedicated software for automatic test

3. Application

Digital Comparison Method for Calibrating CT

TA1700 Wideband Current Transformer Calibration Device

  • This method can be used when the CT under test is in the same or different ratio as the I/V conversion standard.

  • Use a vector voltage analyzer to measure the ratio difference and angle difference of the CT under test.

  • Frequency range: 45 Hz ~ 1 kHz

  • Maximum load: 50 kVA

High stable constant current source

  • Output range: 20 mA ~ 100 A

  • Best measurement uncertainty (k = 2): 300 ppm * RD + 200 ppm * RG

  • Frequency range: 45 Hz ~ 1 kHz

Broadband I/V Conversion Standard A

  • Rated primary current: 100 A ~ 5 kA

  • Rated secondary voltage: 1 V

  • Measurement frequency: 45 Hz ~ 1 kHz

  • Best ratio uncertainty up to 50 ppm @ 50 Hz

Broadband I/V Conversion Standard B

  • Rated primary current: 20 mA ~ 100 A

  • Rated secondary voltage: 1 V

  • Measurement frequency: 45 Hz ~ 1 kHz

  • Best ratio uncertainty up to 50 ppm @ 50 Hz

Precision Coaxial Shunt

  • One 1 A and one 5 A precision coaxial shunt

  • Rated secondary voltage: 1 V

  • Annual stability 18 ppm, AC/DC difference 20 ppm @ 50 Hz

Vector Voltage Analyzer

  • Dual-channel voltage measurement range 0.5 mV ~ 6 V, forward and reverse measurement

  • Best measurement uncertainty of dual-channel voltage ratio (k = 2): 0.005%

  • Best measurement uncertainty of dual-channel phase shift (k = 2): 10 μrad

Adjustable load bank

  • Programmable and adjustable

  • Automatically adjust the secondary load of the current transformer under test
