• Pole pieces are typically accessories installed inside the electromagnet. When excited by a stable DC current source, they generate a large, uniform magnetic field at the center of the two pole faces. This is used for magnetizing/demagnetizing permanent magnet specimens, testing their magnetic properties, or calibrating the magnetic field with a standard tesla-meter.
• Flat pole pieces are cylindrical, with the same diameter for both the pole column and pole face; tapered pole pieces have a smaller pole face diameter than the pole column. Both types are suitable for testing cylindrical, ring-shaped, or block-shaped specimens.
• High-temperature pole pieces can be connected to the TY1900 Specimen Heating Device for heating, commonly used to test the magnetic properties of permanent magnets at elevated temperatures. A thermocouple sensor can be inserted into the pole piece for temperature measurement and feedback control.
• Segment pole pieces are typically used for testing arc magnets and must be customized based on specimen dimensions.
• Tapered pole pieces are available in Fe-Co versions for improved test performance.
