TD3550 Single-phase Energy Meters Verification Device

TD3550 Multifunction Testing Apparatus for Single-Phase Energy Meters

1. Summary

TD3550 is a new-generation single-phase energy meter testing device designed to meet the requirements of OIML R46, the new Chinese national standard GB/T 17215.211, the type evaluation outline JJF 1245-2019, and the latest technical specifications for smart meters from State Grid and China Southern Power Grid.

It mainly consists of a single-phase precision standard power source, a multi-position meter test bench, a control console, an optional computer, and dedicated software. Available in two accuracy classes—0.05 and 0.1—it supports fully automatic simultaneous verification of 6 to 24 single-phase electronic energy meters, smart meters, or IoT meters with identical voltage/current ranges but different meter constants.

2. Features

2.1 Basic Features

  • Maximum Output Capacity: 264 V / 120 A, with a fundamental frequency range of 45 Hz to 100 Hz.

  • Minimum Current Output: As low as 1 mA, providing a fundamental condition for start-up tests of energy meters under test.

  • Automatic Range Switching: Voltage and current outputs support fully automatic range switching and automatic load matching.

  • Multifunctional Energy Measurement: Supports multiple energy metering modes, including forward and reverse active energy, and reactive energy.

  • Harmonic Output Function: Supports 2nd to 63rd harmonics at 50 Hz / 60 Hz. Harmonic amplitude and phase are programmable, providing the basis for high-order harmonic scan tests and complex waveform simulations.

  • High-Order Harmonic Testing: Built-in test plan enables automatic sweeping of signals from 15fnom to 40fnom superimposed on voltage and current circuits, with real-time data collection to evaluate error deviation caused by high-order harmonics.

  • Complex Waveform Testing: Includes built-in waveforms such as square waves, peaked waves, subharmonics, and odd harmonics; also supports user-defined waveforms for influence quantity testing.

  • DC/Even Harmonic Testing: Equipped with TD3410 half-wave rectified waveform module for performing DC and even harmonic testing.

  • Daily Timing Error Test: Built-in standard clock tester with a daily timing error limit of ±0.05 s/d.

  • Automatic Scanning: Supports automatic scanning and automatic short-circuiting of vacant meter positions.

  • Clamping Terminal Wiring: Equipped with a dedicated meter clamping rack compatible with installation-type meters of State Grid and Southern Grid. For non-standard meters, testing can be completed by adjusting terminals or manual wiring.

  • Communication Interfaces: Includes RS-485 communication port, pulse sampling port, and optical pulse input.

  • Management Platform Interface: Complies with the interface protocols of State Grid and Southern Grid metering management platforms for uploading test data.

  • Multi-Position Test Bench: Available in 6 / 12 / 16 / 24 positions, with interfaces for energy output, energy pulse, and communication at each position.

  • Mobile Control Console: Allows manual observation and control of output values via an LCD touchscreen.

  • Dedicated Calibration Software: Supports semi-automatic and fully automatic calibration of meters under test, as well as data management and certificate export. The software features multi-test point repetition, customizable intervals, and automatic error curve plotting.

  • Test Resume Function: In case of power interruption or restart, the software supports resuming tests from the last recorded error point.

  • High Reliability: Output channels feature strong electrical protection, support fault diagnosis and recovery, and offer excellent maintainability.

2.2 Optional Features

  • Voltage Power Consumption Test: Optional multi-position voltage power consumption test module enables testing of power loss in voltage circuits.

  • Current Power Consumption Test: Optional multi-position current power consumption test module enables testing of power loss in current circuits.

  • Rapid Load Current Switching: Users can configure the duration of ton and toff as well as the total test duration. Switching between on and off states completes within one nominal frequency cycle, with current switching performed at the zero-crossing point. A single test can run continuously for more than 4 hours.

  • AC Voltage Dips and Short Interruptions Test: Supports voltage dips and short interruption tests on voltage circuits.

  • Smart Meter Function Testing: Supports prepayment function test, data freeze, key update, parameter update, remote control, security authentication, event logging, and communication protocol conformance checks.

  • Reference Meter: Optional 0.05 class standard energy meter or harmonic reference energy meter.

  • Harmonic Energy Testing: Supports harmonic energy accuracy testing and harmonic measurement accuracy testing via harmonic reference energy meter.

  • Bluetooth: Optional Bluetooth communication with master-slave mode; supports one-to-one Bluetooth communication with meters under test.

  • Optical Probe: Optional optical probe, single-channel by default.

  • PC and Workbench: For placing PC, printer, reference meter, etc. Desk dimensions can be customized upon request.
