TY3300 Magnetic Declination Tester

TY3300 is a system dedicated to measuring the magnetic declination of permanent magnet materials. It is composed of three-dimensional Helmholtz coils, three-channel electronic flux meters, and computer software.  It is suitable for measuring the three magnetic flux components,ΦXΦYΦZ, on the XYZ axes of permanent magnet materials such as permanent magnet ferrite, AlNiCo, NdFeB, and Samarium Cobalt (SmCo) Magnets.  It automatically calculates the magnetic moments MX, MY, MZ, the total magnetic moment M, and the magnetic declination α for each axis. It provides a good test for analyzing and evaluating the magnetization performance of permanent magnets. Reference Standard IEC 60404-14:2002 "Methods of measurement of the magnetic dipole moment of a ferromagnetic material specimen by the withdrawal or rotation method".

1. Summary

TY3300 is a system dedicated to measuring the magnetic declination of permanent magnet materials. It is composed of three-dimensional Helmholtz coils, three-channel electronic flux meters, and computer software.  It is suitable for measuring the three magnetic flux components,ΦXΦYΦZ, on the XYZ axes of permanent magnet materials such as permanent magnet ferrite, AlNiCo, NdFeB, and Samarium Cobalt (SmCo) Magnets.  It automatically calculates the magnetic moments MX, MY, MZ, the total magnetic moment M, and the magnetic declination α for each axis. It provides a good test for analyzing and evaluating the magnetization performance of permanent magnets.

2. Feature

  • Measurement Range: 0.2 mWb1 Wb

  • The drift after zero adjustment is very small, the typical value is lower than 1 μWb/min.

  • 5-digit display, the minimum resolution is as low as 0.1μWb.

  • Measure XYZ axis magnetic flux vector components and composite values.

  • Three specifications of coils are provided to suit the measurement of samples of different sizes

  • Each Helmholtz coil is fitted with a movable loading slide.

  • Optional units: Wb, Vs, Wb·cm, Vs·cm, etc.

  • The total magnetic moment and component magnetic moment are automatically calculated according to the set coil constant.

  • Support exceeding upper limit/lower limit alarm.

  • Support one-key reset and zero drift.

  • Support digital and analog signal output.

  • Equipped with professional software to automatically complete the measurement calculation.

5. Magnetic Declination Measuring Principle

l The vector relationship of MMXMYMZ and the magnetic declination are shown in the above figure, and the measurement principle can be known:

l Place the sample at the center of the Helmholtz coil platform to ensure that the magnetization direction of the sample is perpendicular to a certain axis.

l With the sample removed from the coil and away from it, the magnetic flux components on the three-axis coil are measured: ΦXΦYΦZ

l The magnetic moments in the XYZ direction can be calculated according to the constants of the coils of each axis: MXMYMZ
